• Participate in the investment process providing macro and credit input as designated
• Ensure knowledge of the markets and opportunities within the markets are as current as possible and suggest relative value switches as appropriate
• Manage Fixed income portfolios as designated by the Head of Fixed income ensuring continued compliance with guidelines, risk, and internal control parameters
• Ensure that the counterparty list reflects our current and future trading requirements and initiate new contacts under the direction of the Head of Fixed Income
• Provide input into product development within the fixed income product range
• Responsible for client reporting packages for fixed income clients with client visits where required
• Support the asset growth of the fixed income team by direct involvement in new business pitches where required
• Work with the Statistical analyst to ensure the continued effectiveness of the risk and performance analytics
• To support the Structured product opportunity assessment and launch process where required
Skills
• Degree level education in a relevant discipline, emphasis on statistics, markets or economics
• Post gradual diploma or professional education with emphasis on the above
• CFA Charter holder
• A firm grasp of modern financial markets techniques that apply to fixed income markets including IRS, TRS, CDS etc.
• Good inter-personal and excellent communication skills
• 5+ years experience in fixed income markets with at least 3 years of directly analysis markets or securities, ideally within the region.
• Presentable and able to make compelling presentations to prospective and current clients.
• A self starter with the ability to work with minimum supervision
• Excellent PC skills with an emphasis on excel and the ability to programme a distinct advantage
• Good planning and organization skills to meeting deadlines at all times
• Fluent in English
