Candidate should have solid knowledge on the following:
1. Prepare request for quotations to ensure materials and spares as specified by user departments are quoted for by suppliers.
2. Obtain multiple quotations for supply of mechanical materials & items to ensure competitiveness among the suppliers and development of alternative sources of supply.
3. Prepare and analyze supplier’s quotations to facilitate right selection of supplier.
4. Facilitate negotiation with suppliers to ensure right quality materials / services at right terms and conditions.
5. Prepare and place purchase orders to reflect the requirements & the terms and conditions as per negotiations.
6. Coordinate with stores, suppliers and user departments for inspection of materials to ensure right quality are accepted.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
1. Degree/Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering with 5 to 10 years experience in the Cement Industry, preferably with procurement experience.
2. Requires good leadership qualities, communication skills in advising and dealing with individual team members. Able to work and perform well under pressure.
3. English is essential amd must be computer literate (Knowledge of ERP Oracle (JD Edward). Good skills in negotiating, Time Management, Planning and Quality assurance.
