Building Technician – HVAC / Electrical - SNC LAVALIN ProFac Gulf

This position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor
The successful candidate is responsible for the effective operation of, mechanical and electrical operational systems including but are not limited to heating, air conditioning, ventilation, major refrigeration systems, electrical lighting and distribution.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Perform the scheduled preventive maintenance and general maintenance on the mechanical/electrical systems, HVAC systems and life safety equipment
• To troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical/electronic equipment including but not limited to programmable controls, numeral controls, power supplies, drives, gages and tests equipment.
• Use Maintenance software in execution of HVAC maintenance requirements, schedules and priorities.
• Provide excellent customer service to tenants
• Monitor the environmental and protection systems for buildings
• Comply with all Occupational Health and Safety legislation, guidelines, standards, policies, procedures and practices
Skills
• A certificate in HVAC, Electrical trades or a recognized Building Systems Technician program is preferred.
• Working knowledge of environmental, mechanical, electrical, and life safety systems for commercial and residential facilities
• Hands on experience in HVAC system such as Central system, Split units, Package units, Chilled Water units, Mini Split & Window units
• Experience to estimate material and equipment needs and maintain records of materials used and hours worked, submit report on work performed.
• Ability to make effective technical decisions in emergency situations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly motivated with a strong customer service focus.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word and Excel
• Must be willing and able to work after hours and weekends as required and to be available for standby rotation to respond to after hours service requests
• 3 years diploma or equivalent in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering with minimum 3 years working experience.
