B.Tech. / B.E. / B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering.
At least 10 years experience in project design engineering experience in refining, petrochemical or oil & gas production industries, with a thorough knowledge and experience of application of industrial design standards and codes such as ASME, ANSI and API, TEMA etc., in the design of rotating and fixed equipment.
Primavera 5 and AutoCAD experience are beneficial. Familiar with Shutdowns Documentation and Transmittal systems, CMMS, i.e. SAP/Maximo/EMPAC
Be proficient with MS Office software packages.
Good communication skills (written & verbal) in English.
• Prepare work procedures and guidelines for all mechanical works being done in line with Company standards and industry best practices. He is an active member of the T&I core planning teams and area reliability teams participating in team decisions.
• Provide engineering assistance in the day-to-day operation of process plants, assist in planning plant shutdowns, prepare purchase specifications for the replacement equipment, design major modifications and provide engineering assistance during shutdowns.
• Trouble-shoot engineering problems and carry out design and design checks of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, safety relief systems, piping systems and pumps, etc.
• Complete investigations of problems assigned by engineering services requests and provide cost estimates to operating department for the implementation of solutions.
• Provide approved engineering drawings to carry out essential repairs, provide specifications to maintenance departments to purchase replacement equipment and provide engineering inputs for planning and execution of turn-around for inspection and process plants shutdowns.
• Purchase long lead engineered replacement equipment in order to meet shutdown schedules.
• Participate in Management Of Change (MOC) and HAZOP review teams to ensure safe working and operating conditions in the plant.
• The incumbent also carries out the preparation of feasibility studies, cost estimates, budget control and detailed engineering of multiple small to medium sized projects ranging in value from $5,000 to $ 5,000,000.
