Education:(UG - B.Tech/B.E. - Mechanical) AND (PG - Post Graduation Not Required)
B.Tech. / B.E. / B. Sc. Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a reputed university.
Minimum ten (10) years experience in Oil & Gas / Petrochemical / Engineering Consultancies.
Candidates shall have carried out basic, detailed and project engineering in refining or petrochemical projects, either with an Owner, Engineering Consultant or a Contractor (preferably EPC Contractor).
The Engineer works in the Projects Department where strategic investment projects are managed and handled. The Department handles project engineering and management from inception phase up to the commissioning and final completion. The Projects Department forms a major element of the Major Engineering Projects Division whereby all the mega engineering projects are managed through out the various stages , including; Feasibility Study, Licensors Engineering Design Package Review, Front End Engineering, Procurement & Construction “EPC” phases of the entire package up to close out. The Projects handled are mainly associated with Oil & Gas industry and they are executed to support Bapco’s strategic priorities
Applicant must be Mechanical Engineering graduate, having minimum 10 years experience in Project Management, Basic and Detail engineering in Oil & Gas or Petrochemical or Engineering consultancies. He should posses thorough knowledge and experience in design standards and codes such as ASME, ANSI, API, TEMA etc , project management tools, piping, pumps, pressure vessels, tanks, site activities & supervision, inspection, quality control and commissioning.
Selected candidate will be expected to:• Carryout basic and detail engineering for new and modification projects, replacement and installation of piping, rotary and static equipment, cross country pipe lines, product transfer lines etc.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and operations department to develop and implement projects, modifications and changes in the plant.
• Prepare purchase specifications for static and rotary equipment, utility systems, piping materials etc and provide recommendations for procurement.
• Provide approved engineering drawings, piping plans and isometrics to carry out installation.
• Exercise control over manpower and material resources to execute jobs within schedule and budget, meeting all SHE requirements.
• Carryout / Participate in Management of Change (MOC) and HAZOP to ensure safe working and operating conditions in the plant.
• Trouble-shoot engineering problems and carry out design and design checks of piping systems, pumps, utility systems, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, safety relief systems, etc.
• Supervise, analyze, review and approve engineering design works performed by EPC Contractors & engineering consultants.
• Coordinate the projects implementation and execution with the other disciplined engineers and other key stakeholders of the Project. This includes; Refinery Operations, Maintenance and Environmental, Fire Health & Safety departments.
• Capable of preparing Requests for Proposal “RFP” packages.
• Familiar with contract administration and preparation of tender documents.
• Experience in EPC Contracting methodology and procedures.
• Conducts document search in the Company archives to assemble the essential data and documents for the development of the project scope.
• Obtains machinery, reliability& inspection engineering, operations, process, health & safety, environmental and fiscal inputs for the project.
• Prepares project specifications for the front end engineering and detailed engineering design ITB packages.
• Participates in the bid analysis and evaluation for the selection of contractors and material suppliers.
• Assists the Project Manager in site selection and its approval for the project.
• Prepare, review and monitor projects plans.
• With assistance from the Cost Controller and Planner maintains the change order records, reviews monthly progress reports, monitors assigned budget component progress and advises Project Manager for any corrective actions required.
• With the assistance of Field Supervisors, ensures that the works are completed on schedule with the quality specified in the construction packages and resolves construction conflicts and field variations.
• With assistance from the Cost Controller and Planner maintains the change order records, reviews monthly progress reports, monitors assigned budget component progress and advises Project Manager for any corrective actions required.
• Should be able to work in multi cultural & multi national environment.
• Good Communication, inter personnel problem solving and leadership skills are required.
