This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, managing and supervising accounting functions to ensure they are carried out in compliance within the company’s specified financial and operational guidelines/policies and in adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Policies (GAAP).
The focus of the position is to ensure the accurate and timely processing of all financial transactions, reconciliation of accounts, preparation of the trial balance and delivering efficient service to internal customers, while at the same time assuring that the business adheres to risk management standards.
Key Responsibilities:
a) Maintain records and accounting books as documents of proof; register company transactions as per the accounting system.
b) Ensure accurate posting of accounting entries in journal and general ledger.
c) Preparation of monthly trial balances, analysis statements and final accounts.
d) Supervise preparation of monthly and annual inventory.
e) Supervise accurate preparation of payment vouchers, receipt vouchers and journal entry vouchers.
f) Follow up on preparation of monthly bank statements.
g) Maintain an organized filing system for branch accounts and transactions and integrate them with the company/group accounts.
h) Submit weekly and monthly financial reports to higher management.
i) Prepare an annual budget and plan monthly cash flows accordingly; submit budget to management for review.
j) Follow up on accurate entries for addition, deletion & depreciation of fixed assets; manage balancing of depreciation allocation and accumulated depreciations.
k) Prepare necessary records, entry vouchers and forms. Delegation of tasks among accountants to effectively achieve financial objectives. Submission of reports and comparative analysis of data as per needs.
? Bachelor’s Degree in Accounts with 7 years of related experience out of which 3 years as Chief Accountant in a large firm with.
? Fluency in English language.
? Good knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Computer Literacy (Advanced MS Office)
