Job Description/ Responsibilities |
Role: Supervises assigned discipline personnel. Maintains Technical Integrity Responsibility – • General responsibility for the efficient running of projects as allocated by the Discipline Design Supervisors/Lead Designer. • Responsible for the planning of drawing execution and the execution of work within manhour budget and time schedule. • Control and direct the design, draughting and checking of all work carried out by the design team. Draughting as called for in the execution of design responsibilities. • Prepare layouts, designs, working sketches, technical descriptions and studies including offshore surveys as required, from which final drawing may be made. • Immediately inform the Discipline Design Supervisors/ Lead Designer of any factors which are liable to affect manhours and/or progress of schedules completion dates. • Ensure that no work outside the scope of the original budget is carried out without the approval of the Discipline Design Supervisors/ Lead Designer • Keep all comment prints on file until the completion of the project. • Responsible for adherence to the Department Procedure for Design Safety in conjunction with the Discipline Design Supervisor. • Prepare and update Drawing, Bulk Material Requisition and MTO register in accordance with Project Procedures. • Liaise and co-operation with other sections in Engineering Department. • Discuss with, prepare and submit to the Discipline Design Supervisor the Contract Change Notices for additional work outside the original scope. • Keep abreast of new developments and review new and improved types of materials and equipment. Authority – • Supervises assigned Senior Designers, Designers, Trainees and CAD Operators. • Reports directly to Lead Discipline Engineer and indirectly to Technical Authority SHEQ – • Ensure that all Electrical work complies with Contract and Petrofac health, safety, environmental and quality policies and procedures; project specific SHE and quality plans; and agreed interfacing requirements with sub-contractors as appropriate. • Ensure that all Electrical activities are carried out with all appropriate consideration to the safety of the labour and the Asset itself. Management System – • To ensure that all Electrical work is executed in compliance with Contract requirements, Petrofac Management System requirements and associated procedures and all relevant standards and national and international standards, as appropriate. Qualifications and Experience • HNC/HND. A minimum of 5 years design and draughting experience. Proficient in the use of the following C.A.D. software packages – Microstation / Autocad |
