We are looking for an individual with a focus on building a career in sell side Equity Research. The individual will need to have proven domain expertise in preparing detailed financial models, writing end-to-end research reports and interacting with company management. The current position calls for in-depth experience covering equities in the Middle East region, preferably Oman. The role will require the individual to work as a generalist analyst in a team environment covering one primary sector (Banking and Financial Services, Industrials, Services) and an ancillary sector (Telecom, Contracting, Cement) on an ongoing basis.

The role will also call for discussions with industry analysts, conduct conference calls with subject matter experts and senior management of companies under coverage. The individual will be required to lend support to sales activities by producing relevant collateral and establishing thought leadership with active prospects during the sales cycle. The individual will work closely with the company’s research department in developing research / delivery capabilities aligned with the needs of our investor community.

We are looking for a person with the following capabilities:

Strong capabilities in financial modeling and Valuation (DCF, relative valuation, comparable company analysis, M&A modeling)
Write end-to-end reports related to company initiation, sector analysis, event-driven commentaries and thematic white papers
Clear thinker with an independent mind and an ability to synthesize financial, operational and economic information into a well-integrated research model with scope to customize for different companies/industries
Unlike conventional passive research roles, this position will involve extensive external communication with investors and management teams of covered companies.
Build and institutionalize best practices / models / templates geared towards providing cutting edge research at par with the best in the world
Provide ad-hoc support to sales and marketing team on qualifying opportunities with detailed intelligence and research collateral
Track overall macroeconomic conditions in Oman and GCC region encompassing the real economy, inflation, monetary & banking trends, fiscal situations, external trade & balance of payments.

Profile	3-5 years of overall experience in sell side equity research – Active coverage including modeling, participation in conference calls, report writing - initiations, result updates, event updates and thematic notes Experience in research across 2-3 sectors preferably in the Middle East Ability to design valuation models and issue recommendations for a universe of stocks Ability to showcase samples of past work and references is a required qualifier. Experience with using information services like Zawya, Bloomberg, Thomson-Reuters etc. Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and ability to articulate ideas in an impactful way. Knowledge of Arabic language would be a plus, but not essential. MBA/MS (Finance) from a Premier B-School with a consistent academic record International certifications in financial analysis would be a clear advantage Demonstrable writing skills and references Willingness to work with a growing company Preferred sectors: Financial Services (Banks, Insurance, Others), Industrials, Cement, Telecom, Diversified Subject matter expertise Advanced knowledge in Microsoft office suites, Visual Basic and SQL
